Heute vor sieben Jahren wurden 49 Menschen aus der Gay-Community im Nachtclub “Pulse“ in Orlando grausam ermordet. Es ist bis heute das folgenschwerste Attentat in der LGBT-Community. Wir gedenken den Opfern! Die Lage sowohl in den USA wie auch in Deutschland hat sich dabei seit 2016 weiter radikalisiert. In den USA hat die Human Rights Campaign letzte Woche den nationalen Notstand für die Community ausgerufen, so sehr haben Hass und Gewalt zugenommen. In Deutschland ist die Zahl der Hassverbrechen zum wiederholten Male auch 2022 angestiegen – um 35 Prozent binnen eines Jahres! Gleichzeitig sank erstmals rapide die gesellschaftliche Akzeptanz für Homosexuelle – in den USA wie auch in Deutschland. Wir müssen mehr denn je wachsam sein. Nur gemeinsam können wir uns dem entgegenstellen!
Seven years ago today, 49 people from the gay community were cruelly murdered in the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. To date, it is the most serious attack in the LGBT community. We remember the victims! The situation in the U.S. and also in Germany has become more radicalized since 2016. In the U.S., the Human Rights Campaign declared a national state of emergency for the community last week, so much has hate and violence increased. In Germany, the number of hate crimes rose again in 2022 – by 35 percent within one year!! At the same time, social acceptance for homosexuals dropped rapidly for the first time – in the U.S. as well as in Germany. We need to be more vigilant than ever. Only together can we oppose this!
